The allure of natural stone kitchens

Natural stone is one of the most durable and elegant materials in the world. Modern manufacturing processes now offer unlimited design possibilities. From fine decorative elements to countertops, sinks, and monoblock kitchens, natural stone kitchens are trendy and represent a sensible investment in durability and quality.

Monoblock kitchens

Monoblock kitchens made of natural stone are the supreme discipline in craftsmanship. They are not only an absolute eye-catcher and the centerpiece of every dinner party, but also a functional hub of life.

From calm, profoundly subtle Nero Assoluto (anthracite black) to decorative, grained surfaces and colors from all over the world—there is a stone to suit every taste.

Our Tip:
By combining it with other materials, you can create a lively mix that will inspire you time and time again. In our showroom in Grünwald, you will find a huge selection of samples to feel, experience, and try out.

Natural stone countertops

The practical advantages of natural stone countertops are obvious: they are easy to clean, hygienic, and temperature-resistant. There are also no limits when it comes to aesthetics and exclusivity.

The decision on the right natural stone depends on your individual use and willingness to care for the surfaces.

For example, granite is known for its exceptional robustness and resistance to chemicals. Acids and high temperatures cannot harm it. Quartzite, gabbro, and basalt also have similar properties.

Marble captivates with its liveliness and diversity, but requires similar care to limestone or slate. Wine stains or lemon juice should be wiped off promptly. Dull spots can often be removed by polishing.

Whether polished, sanded, leathered, sandblasted, or carved, we will provide you with the appropriate care tips for every countertop.

Natural stone sinks

Natural stone sinks offer several advantages over stainless steel and composite materials. When using a natural stone countertop, seamless processing in combination with the sink is possible. This means that all corners and edges merge into one another and appear as if they were cast from a single mold or piece.

Even the overflow and strainer basket covers can be made from the same material, rounding off the high-quality look of a natural stone sink.

Compared to standardized materials for sinks, natural stone surfaces are naturally more expensive. We would be happy to provide you with a comparison of the different materials.

Use of natural stone in the kitchen

Natural stones for kitchen countertops are generally divided into two groups:

1. Hard stones: these include

  • Granite
  • Granulite
  • Gneiss
  • Quartzite
  • Basalt
  • Gabbro
  • Syenite
  • Labradorite
  • Porphyry
  • Anorthosite
  • Migmatite
  • Magmatite
  • Volcanic rock
  • Hard conglomerate
  • Breccia
  • and, in most cases, igneous rock.

2. Soft stones: these are

  • limestone
  • marble
  • slate

In addition to their appearance and variety, the major advantages of natural stones are above all their robustness and durability. Our experts also attest to their excellent repair properties.

When choosing the right stone, you should seek advice on its specific properties. In addition to cut and abrasion resistance, it is primarily acids such as those found in vinegar, citrus fruits, or wine that can damage work surfaces. We would be happy to advise you on choosing the right natural stone.
